General Summary:

Working in a converged voice and data environment, responsibilities include VolP Installation and maintenance, network security and infrastructure administration / troubleshooting (i.e, router, switch, IDS, firewall, VolP, LAN/WAN, wireless), day to day maintenance and support as required, Help troubleshoot and escalate issues beyond the network, including application and database problems. Works with Technical Services staff managing day to day network operations.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate technologies to architect and implement a fault-tolerant, highly available local and wide area network environment to support CCI’s enterprise systems. Install and maintain voice network systems and equipment including Cisco Call Manager, Cisco Unity, voice gateways, Cisco ICM/IPCC Enterprise edition, and related systems.
  • Design and deploy LAN/WAN and wireless networks. Install, maintain and ensure consistency in performance (up time, adherence to SLA, etc,) of the voice network including IP Tel, voicemail, IVR’s, reporting, agent desktops, etc.
  • Participate in managing all network security solutions; maintain firewall, IDS and remote access solutions (VPN). Contribute to, and participate in, Business Continuity planning and verification meetings, development and implementation of best practices, policies, processes and procedures for the converged network.
  • Respond to 2nd and 3rd level support requests including troubleshooting and resolving network hardware and software issues.
  • Monitor and test network performance and provide network statistics and reports to management.
  • Maintain network inventory and related documentation as it pertains to asset management and maintenance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline preferred.
  • 3-5 years experience in VolP and/or Call Center systems engineering experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of voice mail, unified messaging, ACD and IVR systems.
  • Minimum five years of related experience in infrastructure/network environments, with some experience in network engineering (hardware and software), network security practices and designing, planning and implementing LANs and WANs using the latest technology. Certifications: CCNP, CCDP, CCVP or equivalent.
  • Strong communication skills with customer focus.
  • 24/7 On call rotation.
  • Ability to work weekends and/or off hours as necessary.
  • Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN/VVAN and VPN topologies.
  • Extensive knowledge of Cisco internetworking solutions.
  • Experience with remote access solutions including RSA, VPN, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of network security, intrusion detection and firewall configuration management.
  • In-depth knowledge of network management tools, best practices for utilization and performance tuning methodologies.
  • Extensive knowledge of content filtering and anti-spam technologies.
  • Availability to work after hours and as needed in support of customer service level agreements.
  • Willingness to learn and evaluate new technologies.
  • Availability to work well in a team environment.
  • Must be a self starter and have a positive attitude.
  • Office work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment that requires normal safety precautions (such as typical office or administrative work).
  • Job involves sitting most of the time; walking, lifting, bending, standing etc. may be minimally required.
